Field Trip!

3/3/2014

A couple of weeks ago we studied Dinosaurs in school, so we took a field trip to the American Museum of Natural History in Manhattan. The fee is a suggested donation, so it is very affordable.

Family Update

3/3/2014

If you haven't heard from us in awhile, it is probably because we were either burried in snow, out braving the cold weather, or...well, I will let the pictures do the talking. This has been kind of a crazy year so far. But, it has also been filled with many blessings from God! Here is a look into our lives in 2014...

We started out the new year with visitors from Wisconsin. We had so much fun with Kelly, Andy, and most importantly, Shiloh! Havilah and Ian loved having their cousin here to visit!

Our next visitors were the Rains family, missionaries to Kenya (whom we have known for a very long time). We enjoyed spending time and catching up with them! Our kids had a blast playing together!

A big highlight of our year so far was our visit for the Germany Klauses! We had so much fun being together and showing them the city!

Then, we had a long interlude of sickness in our family, where the kids spent most of the time on the couch. Thank you to all who prayed for us!

Here are some of Havilah and Ian's Brooklyn friends. We get together once a month so we moms can pray together and have a time of spiritual refreshment, while the kids play. :) I am learning that when life gets busy, the most important thing we can do is to keep our focus on our Savior!

This is such a blessed time for us to get together with believers from churches all over Brooklyn. We were so excited to have 2 couples visiting from our neighborhood! Praise God they heard the Gospel through carols and Scripture reading.

A Message from the Little Klauses

Here are our little sick kids this week. Please pray for Hava and Ian to feel better soon. They don't like being cooped up in the house all day!

Hava is very worried about missing work day at church on Saturday, so we went to the doctor to get medicine for their pink eye. She is already feeling much better and can't wait till she can go back to church. :)

2013 Fall Fun Fest

11/3/2013

Havilah has been looking forward to Fall Fun Fest here at Memorial for a long time. This is definitely one of the highlights of her year! We are thankful for our church family who helped to make it so much fun. The biggest excitement of the day was having visitors from the neighborhood come! We are thankful for every opportunity to be a light to the precious children here in NYC!

Urban Update - November 2013

Dear Praying Friends,

As this year is coming to a close, we are reminded that life is short. It is imperative that we spend it proclaiming the Gospel of Christ to a lost and dying world.

“For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.”
I Peter 1:24, 25

We had an exciting summer with the New York Summer Evangelism Team. What a privilege to be able to give out the Gospel throughout New York City! Through much prayer and consideration, we have made some changes to the future of this ministry. This coming summer we will be starting the Urban Church Planting Experience: a six week ministry for young men who are called to urban church planting. This will involve 3 weeks of mentoring and meeting with church planters here in New York, and interviewing church planters from across the country. The last 3 weeks will be spent with the New York pastors gaining first hand experience in church planting, as well as the everyday duties of a pastor. We have had several young men express interest in joining our team this summer. Please be in prayer for God’s will concerning our team members.

We are looking forward to a great rest of the year. In November, we will be having our annual Fall Fun Fest, an outreach to neighborhood children and their parents. Last year, we were able to get in contact with several new families through this outreach. Please pray that we will see fruit from this labor again this year.

As we enter this time of Thanksgiving, we would like to say “THANK YOU” for your faithful prayer and support. The success of missions does not rest solely upon the missionary, but also upon those that are faithful in their support. We are encouraged to know that we have so many godly people who are praying for us. You all are such a blessing. Thank you! May God bless you as you continue to serve Him where He has placed you!

With Thanksgiving,
Daniel, Maggy, Havilah & Ian Klaus
