It has been a great joy to work here in the ministry of Souls Harbor Baptist church with Daniel and Maggy Klaus. They have proved to be a tremendous help and support to me as pastor as well as our church. They have been well trained and have shown a great heart for the work of the Lord.

They are being led of the Lord to go to New York City and work along side of church planters in a team approach. I believe that this is an effective way to strengthen urban churches as well as help pastors stay and build a great ministry. Brother Klaus has proven to be a wonderful second man. Therefore they should be a perfect family for a team ministry.

Here at SHBC we are blessed to be the home of Inner City Baptist Missions. This is a missionary agency that is dedicated to the support and help of missionaries who are church planting in major urban areas. Another avenue of help is to undergird existing inner city churches. It is our desire to see America’s needy inner cities reached with the Gospel of Christ through the establishment of Bible preaching Baptist churches. We are currently working with our twentieth church plant. The Klaus family will be sent out from our church and ICBM.

This family is well deserving of missionary support for the need of reaching America. As their sending church, we will be supporting them, but they will need to raise a considerable amount of prayer and financial support. Please prayerfully consider having a part in their ministry and work with us to reach America. I am sure you would agree that America is in great spiritual need. We can make a difference by reaching urban neighborhoods.

Dear Pastor,
It is my joy and privilege to recommend Dan and Maggy Klaus to you as missionary candidates to the vast and needy field of New York City. They have a God-given call and genuine burden for our nation’s largest city. I had the wonderful experience of planting Faith Baptist Church in Corona, Queens in September of 1974. My burden for NYC came from being on a summer team of six Bob Jones University students in 1971. Now that we are in an itinerant ministry, God has led us to lead a team of young people to work with the pastors in the New York City area for eight weeks in the summer (you can read more about this on our website). This ministry is called the New York Summer Evangelistic Team—NYSET. Dan was on our first team in 2004. Donna and I knew by the end of that summer that the Lord was definitely burdening Dan for the souls in New York City.

God kept burdening Dan’s heart for this international, multi-cultural field through his remaining years at Ambassador Baptist College. When Dan and Maggy married in June of 2006, they went to Manhattan on their honeymoon! Maggy now shares Dan’s burden, especially after she came with Dan this past summer to be part of NYSET 2008. What a blessing it was to have them and their daughter, Havilah Rose, with us this last summer. They are making plans to assist us again with the 2009 team and in future summers. Dan is the product of a fine Christian home (Donna and I know his parents and they are sweet and godly Christians), a great home church in Wisconsin, and Ambassador Baptist College. Though I haven’t met Maggy’s parents, she is also from a solid Christian family, the same home church in Mukwonago, Wisconsin, and a graduate of Maranatha Baptist Bible College.

As Dan will explain in his material, the Lord is burdening him to do open-air evangelism on the streets and in the parks throughout the five boroughs of NYC, assist church planters, and be a help to existing fundamental, Bible-believing pastors throughout the City. Church planters need help getting started, and pastors of existing churches will be greatly benefited by Dan’s zeal for the Lord and soul-winning ability. Believe me, this is a worthy couple of your consideration for support. Please schedule them so you can see their genuine burden for yourself. Dan is a gifted preacher and they are both very musical (they both sing and play the clarinet well, and Maggy is a fine pianist). I know they will be a blessing to your people.
